Based on the real-life experiences by brilliant veteran Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski, Another Day of Life mixes beautiful animation and documentary to retell and update a powerful story that reflects on the human cost of war reportage.

As Angola decolonises from Portuguese rule in 1975, a power struggle erupts between rival independence groups. Ryszard Kapuscinski, a foreign correspondent from the Polish Press Agency, travels to Angola, ravaged by a war in which the front lines shift like a kaleidoscope from one day to the next. To illuminate the daily horrors and human stories behind the conflict Kapuscinski documents his experiences in what would eventually become his personal book “Another Day of Life” about being ‘alone and lost’ in the chaos and confusion and dirty reality of war. Angola will change him forever: it was a reporter that left Poland, but it was a writer that returned.

After premiering out-of-competition at Cannes, Another Day Of Life has won awards at the European Film Festival, Biografilm Festival and San Sebastián International Film Festival, among others.

A punchy, spectacular hagiographic hybrid
— Hollywood Reporter
an unusual docudrama hybrid matching live-action and animation. The mixture is disconcerting at first, but gradually allows his front line testimony to emerge in a way that matches documentary authenticity with dramatic intensity...The human testimony is undoubtedly the most engaging aspect of ‘Another Day Of Life’
